This podcast was produced by Gary Harwell of Nightschool podcast for ESL. His first show is quite interesting and it gives listeners, specially ESL/EFL students. The show offers music and a good story that makes you think. There's a question posted at the end of the story where you will guess who committed a crime?

This site was primarily created for my students. I see that there's a lot of potentials in using this tool specially in enhancing their oral speeches. We had some challenges here and there but so far I think we're getting there. Way to go guys and keep up the good work.

SORRY AGAIN!!!!!!
Oliver
Listen to Oliver's speech on suicide.
This is Frances' speech on suicde. I'm sorry about being so late.
Oliver has done it again! She could easily express her emotions by varying her delivery of words. You will see in the video how she made use of storytelling approach, narrating a conversation between the 2 characters in the poem. The exhange of responses between these 2 characters, and knowing who's asking the question and who's character is demanding for something (a poem) can easily be discerned. We can also see that Oliver is comfortable and relaxed when giving oral presentations. However, there were some words and phrases that did not come out clearly. I am not sure whether it was from the recording or a result of lowering down or softening of voice. The sudden bursts of words gives emotional impact but the immediate softening of voice made it a bit difficult to understand what was said.
great job, oliver.
Listen and watch Karen Hung read 'Open your eyes'. She began reading without rushing, taking her time, emphasizing the phrase 'open your eyes', hoping that we would do as she suggests, so that we may be able to see what the writer saw- scenes of chaos and uncertainty. I
t's a good piece for understanding culture through poetry
Thank you Karen for sharing this poem. You read it well but maybe perhaps in the future you could read it slower and try to show a bit of emotion in your voice.
way to go, karen!
I enjoyed the poem that Karen Yeh read in class, 10 things I hate about you. I guess, I'm a hopelessly romantic person, and I think I'm still trying to hold on to the years when there was so much passion and the feelings of love and hate were so overhwelming. There's still passion in my life but the security of marriage somehow strips some of the excitement away. I think many of you who are in love may feel the same way, too. Do you?
Listen and watch Caroline deliver her poetry reading. Take note of how she made use of her voice (pitch, intonation) to emphasize the meaning of the text and to put emotions to the words she's reading.
