Oliver's poetry reading

Oliver has done it again! She could easily express her emotions by varying her delivery of words. You will see in the video how she made use of storytelling approach, narrating a conversation between the 2 characters in the poem. The exhange of responses between these 2 characters, and knowing who's asking the question and who's character is demanding for something (a poem) can easily be discerned. We can also see that Oliver is comfortable and relaxed when giving oral presentations. However, there were some words and phrases that did not come out clearly. I am not sure whether it was from the recording or a result of lowering down or softening of voice. The sudden bursts of words gives emotional impact but the immediate softening of voice made it a bit difficult to understand what was said. great job, oliver.

I guess, I'm a hopelessly romantic person, and I think I'm still trying to hold on to the years when there was so much passion and the feelings of love and hate were so overhwelming. There's still passion in my life but the security of marriage somehow strips some of the excitement away. I think many of you who are in love may feel the same way, too. Do you?

1. Impromptu Speech Videos For those who have done their impromptu speeches in class last Thursday, 12-8-2005, you are required to do a self-evaluation based on how you have performed. You need to watch your own impromptu speech video and post an audio comment on our Speech class podcast at http://aidenyeh.podomatic.com/ Your self-evals will be sent to my podcast email address at aidenyeh@podomatic.com You could record your self-_eval using other mp3 audio recorders and send the file to the podomatic email address. Let me know if you have already downloaded your videos from Grouper. You NEED to join this group to make the sharing of videos faster and more efficiently. Your self-evaluation is a required task. To students in my Speech class, As some of you may have already seen, there are a few exchanges of audio comments made on our speech class podcast at http://aidenyeh.podomatic.com/entry/2005-12-09T19_15_58-08_00 The two people who have made their audio comments are Prof. Dafne Gonzales from Caracas, Venezuela and the other is Prof. Emeritus of California State University in Sacramento. Dafne and Elizabeth are good friends of mine and they have agreed to join our podcast. They will reply to your audio comments. In other words, there will be an authentic exchange of messages. You have your real audiences now. So, it is not simply 'US' but it is about getting your messages and opinions across continents. I'm inviting you to take this opportunity to expand your learning experiences. I hope that you will give it (posting your audio comments/extemporaneous speeeches online). To leave an audio comment, on the right column, click on "leave comments online" link. A new page will appear. Click on 'record' and click 'send' once you're done. All you need is a microphone. dearest dafne, many thanks for your email and thank you for sharing your students' experiences on using blogs and audacity. I agree- converting audio files and uploading them on a server is quite overwheliming specially to those who are not really computer savvy. Podomatic is surely better and I hope that must students will start using it. I am posting your audio comment to my podomatic so my students could listen to it too. This way, they will feel that there's a purpose to sending audio comments. Hugs, aiden

Hi Elizabeth, Your audio file (comment) was sent to my podcast email address. I'm forwarding it to my class's podcast site so my students could listen to it, too. The recording was truncated (both in the beginning and end). You were saying something about using ATM and managing money. Thanks anyway. I hope that you could drop by our site often.
